G S V M Medical College is situated in a prominent location in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The college is among the leading institutions in the state. The medical college is named after Late Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, who was a prominent freedom fighter. The college was instigated in 1955. Dr. Rajendera Prasad, the former President of India, was called upon to lay the foundation stone of the college.

Eligibility:
Undergraduate:
The aspirant should have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board in science stream. Also, he/ she should be of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
Diploma:
The applicant should have passed senior secondary examination from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and biology as compulsory subjects.
Post Graduate:
The candidate should have qualified MBBS examination from a recognized university. The candidates, who have passed MBBS examination and should have completed one year of compulsory internship are eligible for admission in the course of Demonstratorship.
Doctorate:
The aspirants who have successfully completed M.D. or M.S. course are qualified to take admission in the super speciality course. The candidates, who have passed M.D. or M.S. course, are eligible for admission to course in Senior Residentship.
Admission Procedure:
Undergraduate:
The admission for 85% seats are done through combined pre-medical test (CPMT) and admissions for rest 15% are through All India medical entrance examination conducted by CBSE.
Entrance Test: CBSE PMT
Post Graduate:
The admissions for 50% seats are through U.P. State Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (UPPGMEE) and remaining 50% seats are filled through All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi.
Diploma:
Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in entrance test conducted by U.P. State Medical Faculty, Lucknow.
Doctorate:
The selection of candidate is based on the marks obtained in All India D.M. /M.Ch. entrance test conducted by Director General of Medical Education and Training of U.P. state
